Water Level Sensor (Ultrasonic)
How can I view my water level in “percentage full”?
The default display for the ultrasonic water level sensor is to show the distance from sensor head to the water surface. If you would like to display the water body level as a percentage full, then you will need to add the ‘dimensions of body of water’ information to the sensor, under ‘settings’ (in the INCYT app or on the website).
You will need to know a few things before you start.
- The distance from sensor head to water surface at its highest level
- The distance from sensor head to water surface at its lowest level
- Shape of the channel or body of water - either through manual depth to volume mapping or with a CSV file
Once you have collected that info, check out this short video on how to calibrate your tank sensor.
Why are my water level readings erratic?
The most common reason for erratic water level readings is something blocking the sensor. Make sure there is nothing large floating on the water surface and no spider is living underneath the sensor. Also ensure there is a minimum of 500mm between the sensor head and the water surface when the body of water is at its highest level.
My water level is at its highest, but my dashboard is showing 0.5m?
When installing your ultrasonic water level sensor, keep in mind that the minimum distance from the sensor to the water surface is 500mm. That is the minimum resolution of the ultrasonic sensor.
