OUTRIGHT: With an outright purchase of this rain gauge you own the hardware. The only thing left to pay is the monthly data fee. Included in this purchase is a 6-months ‘standard’ data plan, giving you sampling and data transmission every hour, and up to 5 years battery life for your blue node.

‍You are able to change your data plan at any time in the INCYT app, with data plans ranging from Lite ($5 per month) to Unleashed ($20 per month) - giving you a range of sampling and data transmission interval options.

OVERVIEW

INCYT’s rain gauge - pro is designed to meet the guidelines of the World Meteorological Organisation and is a professional grade tipping bucket rain gauge with 8” (203mm) diameter collecting funnel and 0.2mm tip. It utilises a cast metal base, spun copper collecting funnel with machined gunmetal rim and gold plated tipping bucket to provide a proven accuracy of /- 1% at rainfall intensities up to 250mm per hour and /- 3% at rates up to 500mm per hour.

HOW IT WORKS

INCYT’s rain gauge - pro utilises INCYT’s XR network, so you’re not restricted to only using this in areas where you’ve got a cellphone signal - as long as your rain gauge is within reach of a INCYT base station, you’re able to use the rain gauge! The rain gauge gets paired up with an INCYT blue node, giving you up to 8 (!) years of battery life!

The rainfall data is available to you through the INCYT cockpit, which allows you to share this data with other users on your INCYT account as well. You are able to see rainfall totals for 24 hour, 7 day, 30 day or 365 day periods. Alarms can be set for these same periods as well with both high and low configurations available. Alarms can be sent via email, text or in-app notifications to yourself or anyone else you choose to send this alarm to.

A variety of plans is available - the ‘Pro’ plan for example offers you continuous sampling with data transmission every 15 minutes; higher or lower frequency data transmission plans can be selected at any time.

The kit includes a rain gauge-pro and blue node.
The rain gauge requires maintenance from time to time: make sure to keep the bucket clean and free from dust build-up so that it doesn’t clog up.
